New Years Skin Resolution

by Lisa D'Mello on December 30, 2019

It’s the end of a decade and it’s time to look back and reflect on all the highs and lows. What were our major wins? What can we improve on?  How can we be 2.0 versions of ourselves? A big goal for a lot of us is being better to ourselves- Self love. We have realized that doing well career wise doesn’t always translate to the self love or the confidence we thought it would. Let’s change that 2020 and take care of our body, mind and spirit. Here are some of the most important things we can do for ourselves, that will help us be  stronger and better taken care of:

Meditate- Guys, I cannot stress how much meditation can change you as a person and bring a sense of peace and calm to your life. With just as little as 10min a day you will see yourself  making more thought out decisions, being calm in situations that would have made you mad and also help you analyze situations in a more mindful way. If you want to start off you could start with guided meditations and then move to silent meditations. Erin Haskell does fantastic guided meditations.  Calm is a very popular guided meditation app as well.

Exercise- “ Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy.” Elle Woods. Not only does exercise make you happy, it also makes your skin glow, makes you more fit and makes your a more confident person overall.

Take Care of your skin (Skin Rituals)- Not only are skin rituals beneficial but they also have such a calming effect. There’s nothing better than taking care of yourself and it reflecting on your face with a gorgeous complexion. Let’s not underestimate the harmful effects of the sun and the pollution we are exposed to on a regular basis and be proactive about preventing skin damage and premature/aging. Eat Healthy- What you put in your mouth is so important and an unhealthy diet almost always shows up on your face in the form of acne, dark circles, or a lustless complexion. Drinking a lot of water, eating your greens and limiting the amount of processed, sugary and fried foods can do a world of a difference to your health and your skin.
